Bedroom 1, with zip & link king size bed which can be configured as twin single beds (please advise when booking).
Bathroom with claw foot bath with shower over, heated towel rail, basin, WC and White Company toiletries.
Steps with night sensor lighting to mezzanine bedroom 2 into the eaves with twin single beds. Please note there is restricted headroom and this bedroom is not suitable for children under the age of 10 due to the steep steps.
Outside: To the rear of the property is a peaceful (not dog proof) garden overlooking woodland. The garden has its very own treehouse which children are welcome to use, supervised. The decking area stretches the length of the property with patio furniture, easy chairs and charcoal barbecue. Please be aware that this garden is not enclosed and the surrounding area is not suitable for dogs to roam due to the wildlife and breeding pheasants. Dogs must be kept under control at all times.
Oak Tree Cottage is situated in the grounds of the owners lovely New England Style House, one of a small group, each wooden built with tin roofs, known as 'Tin Town'. Formerly the area's electric generator plant, Oak Tree Cottage has been lovingly converted to a family retreat. The cottage is located on private coastal lane inside the New Forest National Park, ideally situated to explore the beaches and rambling, cycling and riding trails of the area. This delightful cottage is cosy and full of rustic charm with a beautiful flag stone floor throughout the open plan living area. Featuring a wood-burning stove the property is a cosy hideaway, a perfect haven after a busy summer day or a refuge for those long winter nights.
Sleeping 4, the property has two bedrooms including a charming mezzanine style bedroom accessed from the open plan living area. The large garden is a perfect haven for children with its very own treehouse. An attractive decking area provides a peaceful setting for al fresco dining on spring and summer evenings.
The cottage is ideally situated close to the coast with access to a private beach just a 5 minute walk. Amenities can be found a short drive away at East Boldre Stores (3.5 miles away) or in the nearby town of Lymington (6.5 miles away) including a variety of eating venues, shops and boutiques. The historic village of Buckler's Hard, with maritime museum, Master Builders pub with summer barbecue, access to river cruises and outdoor activities, and New Forest Ice Cream shop, is a short 1 mile cycle or drive. The village of Beaulieu, home to Beaulieu National Motor Museum, The Montagu Arms with Michelin Star Terrace Restaurant, cafes and shops is just a 5 mile drive.
