If you are looking for a cosy bolthole just off the Lyndhurst High Street then The Snug is the place to be! This accommodation will suit a couple or small family wanting to be centrally based yet within easy access of the surrounding villages. As is traditional with an older cottage the stairs are very steep so may not suit very young children, although a stairgate can be provided on request. The popular village of Lyndhurst has many independent shops, two mini-markets, several restaurants to suit all tastes, pubs and cafes all within a five minute walk of the cottage. Known as the capital of The New Forest, Lyndhurst is home to the New Forest Heritage Centre which gives a unique guide of the history and heritage of the forest. A popular spot is Boltons Bench which offers fantastic views of the area and is often frequented by the free roaming ponies and cattle. If you enjoy walking or cycling there are excellent walks or cycle rides along the gravel trails from Lyndhurst. Bike hire and route maps are available from Woods Cyclery in the village. The New Forest Reptile Centre, 2 miles west of the village, is an interesting place to see our native reptiles and amphibians. There are many other local attractions including the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, Longdown Activity Farm, New Forest Wildlife Park, Paultons Park, Exbury Gardens and Calshot Activity Centre to name just a few. The New Forest villages of Brockenhurst, Burley and Fordingbridge are all well worth a visit whilst exploring the National Park.
